Position Summary

The Broker Assistant at Novatae Risk Group is a crucial support role within our Wholesale Insurance division, responsible for assisting Brokers in various tasks related to client engagement, policy placement, and administrative duties. This position is an excellent opportunity to gain experience and contribute to the success of the team.
                       
Primary Responsibilities

Client Support:

Assist Brokers in engaging with clients, understanding their insurance needs, and conducting initial assessments.
Act as a point of contact for client inquiries, requests, and general assistance.

Market Research and Documentation:

Conduct market research to support Brokers in analyzing carrier offerings and pricing.
Maintain organized and accessible documentation related to client policies and transactions.

Policy Placement Assistance:

Support Brokers in placing insurance policies with selected carriers, coordinating the negotiation of terms, conditions, and pricing.
Ensure the accurate completion of policy applications and related paperwork.

Risk Management and Analysis:

Provide assistance in risk assessment, helping Brokers identify potential client exposures and coverage needs.
Assist in monitoring and updating client insurance portfolios as needed.

Administrative Support:

Handle administrative tasks, such as data entry, filing, and preparing reports.
Coordinate appointments, follow-up communications, and other administrative duties to support Broker activities.









Position Specific Skills/Qualifications
Work Experience:

Prior experience in a support role in the insurance industry or related field is beneficial but not required for entry-level positions.

Professional Licenses/Certificates (if needed based on industry standard):

A valid insurance assistant's license or relevant certifications can be advantageous.

Essential Skills/Competency:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with clients and supporting Brokers.
Attention to detail and the ability to assist in market research and policy documentation.
Proficiency in office software, including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Eagerness to learn and adapt to the dynamic insurance environment.

Education:

A bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field is preferred but not required for entry-level positions.

Physical Demands

Office work. Office work involves working at a desk most of the time, using a stand-up/sit-down adjustable desk. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Typing, grasping, and repetitive motion typically is required every day, and walking and standing are required occasionally.
